I've Got a Sunburn: Now What?

In summer, plans in the pool, the beach, the river and other bathing areas are essential to cope with the heat. But in them we expose ourselves to the sun and the damage it does to our skin. Not only in these contexts, but a walk through nature, a day of errands or having a drink on a terrace also leave us at the free mercy of ultraviolet rays.

We are increasingly aware of the importance of protecting our skin from the sun, to prevent burns, irritation, photoaging and, in the worst case, melanoma. However, no matter how careful we are, sometimes our dermis is damaged by sun exposure.

Perhaps because you forgot to apply protection when you left the house, you did not apply the right amount, you did not renew the application after two hours or after bathing. The fruit of carelessness is considerable damage to the skin, which translates into redness, irritation, inflammation and burns. Often these are accompanied by pain, stinging, itching, peeling skin, blisters, and even fever or chills. Once the damage is done, how do we repair the sunburn?
