"I'm 23 years old and I've been fired 13 times"

Elena Fuentes is a young woman who, at only 23 years old, has reported through social networks that she has already been fired from up to a dozen different jobs. After expressing her frustration in a video uploaded to the TikTok platform, the young woman quickly went viral among the large number of people who identified with her testimony.

This Monday, the Telecinco program TardeAR echoed the case and invited its protagonist to speak live with Ana Rosa Quintana and the collaborators present on set. There, Fuentes has clarified that, of the 13 jobs, she has been fired from eight "or the contract has been terminated", while the rest of her she has left voluntarily.

"I am mainly in front of the public, in clothing stores, but I have also been in pizzerias, a jewelry store, a shoe store, a hair salon as a receptionist... But basically they are clothing stores," he listed some of the jobs he has had to date.

Elena considers that the fact that many people have shared her experience, especially other young people like her, has been key in the video going viral. "It's happening to all of us, and everyone has sent the same message of support, of 'calm down, the same thing is happening to us', and 40-year-old people who have an even worse resume than me," she said.

The latest labor reform establishes that temporary contracts cannot be longer than six months, as Ana Rosa recalled, but this has not prevented situations like Elena's. "If, for example, the last job I had not long ago was for a week, they gave me a seven-day trial period, and after those seven days, I was out," she said in TardeAR.

Despite his experience, Fuentes claims to have a good relationship with the companies he has worked for. "They all call me back and tell me if I'm interested in coming back, but of course, sometimes I'm at another job and I can't say that I'm leaving the other job back to the previous one, it's surreal," he said on the Telecinco program.
