Goya Toledo admits that the Canarian accent continues to be a problem in his profession

Las tres puertas said goodbye to the audience of La 2 today. María Casado's program ended the season this week with three exceptional guests: actress Goya Toledo, casting director Luis San Narciso and singer Alfred García.

Goya Toledo has participated in more than 40 films, including Amores perros, La caja 507 and Las 13 rosas. The actress has reviewed her professional career with all kinds of details together with María Casado and she has also addressed aspects of her personal life.

At the beginning of his interview with María Casado, Goya Toledo recalled that the moment that changed his life was when he was offered his first role: "It was a very beautiful story. The director saw me in Lanzarote and told me 'you are the protagonist of my next film' and he told me 'Mararía'. He tested me and took me", he recalled.

On the other hand, the actress has assured that she wants a Goya, but, above all, a good film: “I want a Goya, of course I do. Above all, I want a good film, a good character, and then they tell me 'You take the Goya'. That has to be wonderful."

However, not everything is as pretty as it seems. The actress has revealed that her Canarian accent was a problem for her in the castings: "I went to the castings and they told me no, no... it's because your accent", she commented. “I was studying dramatic art. I was very excited. Entering a casting and thinking that they were going to ask me about my accent… Horrible ”, she added.

In addition, the actress has assured that she believes that it continues to be problematic: "I think that this continues to happen unless you play a Canarian character," she commented visibly serious under the watchful eye of María Casado.
