Gerard Piqué forces a soccer tournament to be suspended and leaves 300 children stranded

Many parents will be able to confirm that nothing else has been discussed in their homes other than the Kings League organized by Gerard Piqué and the streamer Ibai Llanos. It has been the fashionable sports event in networks, and thousands of children have recovered their dream for wanting to be soccer players.

A dream that almost 300 children between the ages of 8 and 14 could make come true with the Kids Super League, an event that was to be held this past Sunday, but which ultimately did not happen thanks to a lawsuit from Kosmos Global itself, a Piqué, who managed to suspend the tournament legally to avoid plagiarism and unfair competition due to its resemblance to the Kings League.

A decision that shattered the illusions of the children, but also a preparation of a project that began three months ago by Brain Football, the organizing company of the football tournament and to which Kosmos requested the modification by burofax two months ago. of some elements of the brand to avoid any resemblance.

"Two months ago we received a burofax in which we were urged to change several things, such as the name, the logo, the format... We wanted to make a competition called Kids League and that in a certain way resembled the Kings League , but with children. Around those same dates, the Prince Cup was announced, the children's competition that they will do in summer."

The tournament was to be held on Sunday, April 16, at the Paco Navarro Municipal Stadium, CF Mollet UE facilities; in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona), but it could not be after the request for suspension by Kosmos just two days after the event through legal notification, directed against the commercialization, exploitation of the event and the broadcast of the sports tournament and the brand under which it was released.

According to Nil Congost, sports director of the Kids Super League, everything that is happening is simply an attempt by Gerard Piqué to "patent" football; and that the only thing that the children's project shares with the Kings League are the "advantages" that the players can get during the matches. "Football is and will always be universal. Going against that is going against sport," Congost stated on social networks.

"You cannot even imagine the impotence that this decision causes us after all the effort, work and, above all, the illusion of being able to make so many boys and girls happy. Illusions that, due to economic interests, vanish," he says.

Initially called the Kids League, the tournament was renamed the Kids Super League after the advice of the company's legal team, which also recommended changing its logo, which featured a crown, similar to that of Piqué's project. They also modified their web domain and even some rules of their regulations, especially after the announcement of the future Prince League, the children's version of Gerard Piqué's Kings League, to avoid further confusion.

"Thank you for wanting to join us on this adventure. For your enthusiasm and for the energy that you have transmitted to us from day one. We are sorry that we were not able to give you the football party you deserved. It is not goodbye, but a see you soon", he assured. Congost, who promises that they will carry out the tournament soon in the possible way.

"It is not understood that a competition like this can overshadow a project like Piqué's," says Miguel Oller, in Ya es mediodía, "They found out suspiciously at the last minute, two days after it was held."

To them, Congost can only promise that they will take to the field soon, although they still don't know how.

"We hope to find a way to fulfill all these dreams together very soon. Once again. Thank you," he ends, before assuring that all payments to the participants will be refunded in the coming days.
