'Daryl Dixon', the second spin-off after the end of 'The walking dead', already has a date

First it was the turn of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) with their adventures in New York in Dead City. It was an unlikely alliance: Maggie, who had to learn to live with the murderer of her husband, had come to need him if she wanted her child back. And, now that this first season is about to end, AMC Networks has announced that it is the turn of the spin-off of The walking dead centered on Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), which is located in territory never explored by the franchise based on in Robert Kirkman's comics: the European continent.

Daryl Dixon can be seen starting September 10 in the United States, with a simultaneous nightly premiere on the AMC cable channel and the AMC streaming platform. This means that the series should be available in Spain from September 11. AMC Networks has not yet announced that it will air the series at the same time as its home country, but this is the airing strategy used with Dead City in June.

In the second spin-off produced after the end of The Walking Dead, Daryl is not in Europe of his own free will. He wakes up in France not knowing exactly how he got there and wanting to return to American soil. How will the zombie epidemic have changed the landscape? Among the confirmed new characters, Clémence Poésy will play Isabelle, a member of a progressive religious group with a dark past, and Adam Nagaitis as Quinn, owner of a clandestine nightclub in Paris. The cast is completed by Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.

And, as actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan dropped, who could finally be in Daryl Dixon will be Melissa McBride. At first the character of Carol had to be present from the beginning, making up half the weight of the series, but McBride distanced himself from the project. The reason given to the public is that, as the filming moved away to Europe, the actress had not been able to join the production.

It remains to be seen, however, if McBride will appear as a secondary, if he will settle for a cameo or if his incorporation will be at the end of the season with the aim of appearing on a stable basis later.

The walking dead: Daryl Dixon is written by a veteran like David Zabel, who had not written before in any production of The walking dead and who has titles on his resume such as ER, Star Trek: Voyager or Red Alert. Zabel has the advice as executive producers of veterans of the original series such as Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang or Reedus himself, who, like Cohan and Morgan in Dead City, is now not satisfied with just being an actor.

After Daryl Dixon it will be the turn of Rick and Michonne with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira retaking the leading characters from The walking dead. On that occasion, Scott Gimple, the creative director of the zombie universe who oversees all the projects, signs the series with Gurira.
