Daniel Sancho will be tried in June by videoconference in Spain for an attack

On June 5, the trial will take place for an alleged crime of injuries to Daniel Sancho, who will testify by videoconference from Thailand as accused of having punched a man in Madrid in 2019.

The Criminal Court number 16 of Madrid has established this date after a previous suspension of the trial due to a communication received from the Thai Prosecutor's Office, where Sancho is in preventive detention for the murder of the Colombian doctor Edwin Arrieta.

According to legal sources, Sancho will go to the Koh Samui court to testify by videoconference before the Madrid court. In this case, the Prosecutor's Office requests one year in prison and compensation of 2,100 euros for the victim. The Prosecutor's Office maintains that the accused, in an altercation in a taxi in Madrid, attacked a man who reproached him for his behavior, causing him to break a tooth and break his head with a punch.

Prior to the trial in Thailand for the murder of Arrieta, Sancho's defense had requested his extradition to be tried in Spain for the crime of injuries, a request that was rejected. Sancho, son and grandson of renowned actors, has been in provisional prison since August 2023 in Thailand.

The judicial process in Thailand against Sancho for the murder of Arrieta has already concluded, and the reading of the sentence is scheduled for next August 29.
