Daniel Sancho's friends stand up for him: ''Edwin Arrieta was harassing him''

On August 7, after an initial investigation, Spanish cook Daniel Sancho was admitted to the Thai prison of Koh Samui accused of murdering Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta.

According to what Sancho initially defended, he was enjoying a few days of vacation with the doctor on the Asian island when he disappeared. When he went to report that he had not seen him for more than 24 hours, the Police questioned him and began to dismantle his alibi. The situation reached such a point that the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho ended up confessing that he had murdered and dismembered his traveling companion.

Three months after the events, the Prosecutor's Office issued the report and firmly decreed that Sancho will face different charges at trial: premeditated murder, concealment of the body of Arrieta's lifeless body and destruction of documentation.

During all this time, Sancho has been working non-stop with his legal team on a defense strategy with which he can escape the death penalty or, failing that, life imprisonment. It should be said that the accused has changed his version and that, when the authorities confirmed that there was preparation for the crime, Sancho defended that it was an accident. Currently, we know thanks to the Open Code program that Sancho defends the theory that he was defending himself from an alleged rape.

Given the popularity of the case, the Investigative Team program wanted to delve deeper into the link between the victim and the alleged murderer and has uncovered that Sancho's friends knew Arrieta. One of the interviewees explained that he did not know Silvia Bronchalo's son in depth, but that his cousins did and that Sancho warned them of the situation: ''If Edwin is talking to you, ignore him because he is being very annoying to me, he is like harassing me.'' .

In its search for more opinions, the La Sexta program gave voice to some of Sancho's friends and former classmates, who made it clear that this was a good guy: ''I've known him for a long time. He arrived as a normal person in the first year of ESO. In the end, we all have our friends, we all have our vibe and he came in very well because he was a very nice guy.'

It should be said that the statements of his party companion explaining that the accused young man felt harassed by Edwin agree with the version that he gave to the Thai Police during the confession of the crime, since at that time he explained that he felt like "a hostage''.
