Cristina Pedroche faces those who insult her on social networks: “We have to work more on empathy”

Ten months ago, Cristina Pedroche began a new stage in her life. In July 2023, the presenter welcomed Laia, her first daughter, the result of her marriage to chef Dabiz Muñoz. The Zapeando collaborator has shared the entire pregnancy and postpartum process through her social networks, something that has cost her both signs of affection and criticism. To the latter, she recently wanted to respond.

The truth is that each of Pedroche's movements are analyzed with a magnifying glass. She is one of the most followed women on social networks in our country. On Instagram, she has more than 3 million followers. Through the platform, she has received a lot of criticism for her way of dealing with the postpartum, something that she wanted to denounce after sharing a publication that she ended up surrounded by hate.

The events occurred following a consultation of questions that she herself prepared. The presenter also enabled a box on Instagram titled 'My postpartum hair and I answer' and in it, her followers could leave a question for her to answer. Everything caught fire when one of them wrote the following: “They will be burying you at your funeral and you will still be postpartum, my daughter.” But this was not the only harsh comment that Cristina had to face.

“Postpartum hair? Or just disheveled... really, how tired...”, “Are you still postpartum?” or “this idiot thinks she is the only one who has given birth in the fucking world. Ridiculous”, were some of the comments that the Madrid woman received. Some criticism that she could not ignore and which she decided to face with a story shared on her profile.

“I wanted to only bring out the good things in this round of questions, but these have hurt me a lot and I think that by sharing it I can help other women who may also feel bad when a few months have passed since they gave birth and the people in their family environment tells them that it can no longer be postpartum,” she wrote, indignant and incredulous at everything she had read.

“You have to read more and you have to be more up-to-date, but above all you have to work more on empathy,” said the presenter, clarifying that she is not “going to explain that the postpartum period can last for years” and that she is not going to waste time either. in demonstrating how it totally changes women's lives because “that's what experts are for.” The truth is that it is not the first time that Pedroche faces her 'haters'. Already in the past she did it, demonstrating her decisive character and raising her voice in criticism that seemed unfair to her.
