Christian Oliver's heartbreaking message before dying in a plane crash with his daughters

This weekend, the world of culture received a severe blow this Friday. German actor Christian Oliver, 51, and his two daughters, Matilda and Annik, ages 12 and 10, died in a plane crash in the Caribbean, according to local authorities. The plane, which was taking them from one island to another in the Windward archipelago, crashed into the ocean, and both the family and the pilot, Robert Sachs, lost their lives. Now, a few hours later, his last words on social media have sounded most devastating.

According to some international media, several people tried to help after the accident occurred. "Some fishermen and divers rushed to the scene of the accident to offer help," the reports said. As confirmed by local authorities, it was this past Thursday when the family embarked on a trip from the island of Bequia to Saint Lucia. It was a trip that lasted just over half an hour, and was uncomplicated.

Official sources have assured international media that the pilot contacted the control tower to explain the complications in the flight. Immediately afterwards, the ship collapsed. "The SVG Coast Guard was informed and quickly moved to Paget Farm, Bequia, to coordinate rescue efforts," the media said.

The actor, who had separated two years ago from his ex-wife, Jessica Klepster, was on Christmas vacation with the little ones. It was Oliver himself who a few days ago shared a snapshot on his Instagram profile to congratulate the new year. "Congratulations from somewhere in paradise. 2024 here we come," he said, sharing an image of a beautiful sunset on the beach. There was nothing to suggest then that 2024 could be so fatal for the actor and his entire family.

After the fatal accident, the four bodies were recovered by the coast guard and it is expected that they can be transferred to their country of origin in the coming days. At the moment, investigations continue to clarify what could have happened. Oliver, born Christian Klepser, appeared in about 60 television shows and movies, including a minor role in Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise. He also appeared in the film Meteor and The Good German, a 2006 World War II film by Steven Soderbergh starring George Clooney and Cate Blanchett.
