Cartier opens its doors to an exceptional immersion in craftsmanship

Cartier's commitment to artisan talent is something that has characterized the high jewelry firm since its inception. Innovation and courage are two messages that are transmitted with his pieces, but also the love and devotion to the history of its artisans are emblems of the Maison founded by Louis-François Cartier.

As part of its first year of participation in the European Artistic Crafts Days (EACD), Cartier invites the public to a series of selected boutiques to discover exceptional works of art and their secrets through an exclusive experience in the presence of their creators.

In Geneva, Copenhagen and Barcelona, visitors and locals will be able to meet the artisans and immerse themselves in the world of their craft. Sketches, tools, materials, photos and videos from the workshops will enhance visitors' understanding of the various stages of the entire creative process.

At the Cartier boutique in Barcelona, from Monday March 27 to Saturday April 1, visitors will be able to discover the work of three local artisans - stained glass specialist Jorge Aragone, mosaic expert Livia Garreta and sculptor Sofía Aguilera - through different guided tours that will be organized every day. To access these visits you must register through the following website.

Aragone, who has participated in the restoration of Casa Batlló and Casa Lleó i Morera, has created an impressive stained glass window that crowns the interior garden of the boutique and others, at the entrance, that recall the Maison's jewelry.

Garreta, who participated in the recovery of the Mecat de la Boquería or the Hospital de Sant Pau, has been in charge of creating the floors of the boutique from his well-known atelier in the Barcelona neighborhood of Gràcia. Finally, the sculptor and artist Sofía Aguilera has created a floral composition for the area dedicated to diamonds with small pieces of white ceramic, with matt and lacquer finishes, inspired by the spirit of Mediterranean brides.

In 2023, Spain is the guest country of honor at the 17th edition of the European Artistic Crafts Days, organized in our country by Fundesarte and Oficio y Arte, the reference organization in the promotion and development of Spanish artisan companies.
