Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy are one of the most popular couples in international social chronicle. The former French president and the model met in 2007, just when the politician had just separated from his wife of more than eleven years, Cécilia Attias.
After the breakup, a mutual friend of the couple was in charge of organizing a blind date between the politician and the model. The crush was instantaneous, so just a few months later, they both decided to walk down the aisle. The ceremony was held on February 2, 2008 at the Elysée palace. The wedding did not have a long list of guests, as it was held in absolute privacy. After the ceremony, a small party took place at the La Lanterne restaurant.
Some time later, it was Carla Bruni herself who stated in several interviews that many people around her saw the wedding as very hasty, but they "were so sure of their love that they decided to go ahead." And although many doubted her love story, the truth is that the former president of France and the model continue happier than ever and celebrate each anniversary as if it were the first. Furthermore, in 2011 they welcomed their first daughter together, Giulia.
Now, and after celebrating their fifteen years of marriage on February 2, the couple is in luck again this Monday, November 13, as it marks sixteen years since they met. And to celebrate it in style, the model decided to share an unpublished video of her along with her husband on social networks.
Carla Bruni published on her Instagram profile a small fragment with Sarkozy enjoying a quiet day on the beach and several images of the two during some of their long years of relationship. ''Thank you for these 16 years of love my love ♥️ @nicolassarkozy,'' the model wrote.
