Despite all these professional achievements, on a personal level the model has a serious health problem that affects her both physically and mentally. At just 16 years old, she was diagnosed with Lyme, a tick-borne bacterial condition that her mother, Yolanda Hadid, also suffers from.

Aware of the influence she has among the youth of generation Z, Bella wanted to show how she fights against this disease. "This is me on a decent day," Hadid begins as she shows how this ailment affects her teeth. "There was a low-grade infection under the tooth, next to a tooth I thought was suffering. It continued to spread downward, causing a low-grade infection in my jaw. I've been feeling for months now that I needed to get that tooth out, to heal my bad teeth! else!" he explains.

In the video posted on her TikTok, the young woman also posts images of the outbreaks she suffers on her skin due to Lyme. "Most of the photos I take when I go through one of the outbreaks are like this. Especially if I have a lot of work, my skin changes color, lesions appear, and I also feel tired, anxious, depressed and without motivation," she says.

A disease that, as she herself confesses, has affected her mentally. "I hate looking in the mirror or taking pictures of myself lately because I feel like throwing up when I look at myself," Bella reveals, adding, "years and years of this. I'm fixed, I try, but man, it's hard to be a model by profession. and at the same time see you this way".

In addition, Hadid has explained that when doctors did not give her a clear diagnosis, she had to deal with people who did not believe her. "I started to self-medicate at the age of 15, nobody believed me despite having done thousands of tests," she says.
