Ariadna Oltra counterattacks after Ricard Ustrell's disparaging words about the TV3 debate

The presenter of 'Els Matins' and moderator of the 12M electoral debate held on Tuesday night on TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio, Ariadna Oltra, took advantage of this morning to counterattack the derogatory comment that Ricard Ustrell, director and presenter of 'El matí de Catalunya radio', dedicated to the celebration of this debate, when he said that he was not going to follow it because he had work pending to do: "hang a painting and hang the clothes."

The TV3 electoral debate recorded good audience figures, with a 22.1% screen share and 358,000 viewers. During the program he presents, 'Els matins', Oltra was pleased with these data and stated that “the hangover goes better if you know that people, instead of hanging pictures at a wrong time, dedicated themselves to following the debate on public radio and television in this country.”

On Tuesday morning, the director and presenter of the TV3 program 'Col·lapse', opened the controversy by stating in his radio program that the electoral debate that La Sexta held on Monday night was “much better than the one during years on TV3. I think we should take note," to later add that he was not going to follow the one on TV3: "I already saw the one from yesterday (on La Sexta) and today I have work: I have to hang a painting and hang clothes."

During Monday afternoon, Ustrell apologized for distancing himself from Tuesday's electoral debate after criticism from TV3's Professional Council for “denigrating” this debate. “We strongly condemn Ricard Ustrell's two comments denigrating the TV3/Catràdio electoral debate and praising that of the competition. It is unforgivable that the director of 'El Matí de Catalunya Ràdio' and 'Col·lapse' spoke like this about the company he works for and his colleagues. We hope for rectification,” the TV3 Professional Council published in X.

A few hours after this message, Ustrell rectified on social networks: “Not only will I watch today's debate on TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio, but tomorrow we will speak extensively on 'El matí'. I apologize if anyone has felt offended. I will hang the painting tomorrow afternoon.”
