A great Nigerian wedding will surprise Barcelona with luxury and exoticism

A great Nigerian wedding will once again splash the city of Barcelona with millions after the opulent marriage of the Mittal family, held in 2013, and the equally lavish Indian wedding that was held in the modernist grounds of the Hospital de Sant Pau last year. It is now the turn of a wealthy Nigerian doctor who, according to Crónica Global, would already be looking for spaces in Barcelona to say "yes, I do" this spring.

The event will bring hundreds of guests to the city and, as on previous occasions, this will mean a favorable economic impact for the operators necessary for the celebration, a group that includes hotels, wedding planners, florists, catering companies and more. service groups. The festivities are expected to last several days and use different iconic settings of the city that have not yet been confirmed.

In conversation with this medium, Toni Seguí, the interior designer and event designer, in charge of organizing the two large Indian weddings mentioned, has assessed that this type of event is a showcase for the city, since these weddings not only have repercussions in the country of origin of the bride and groom, but they are also talked about around the world.

Also, "this type of event represents a lot of money for the city because several groups of services participate in it," this leading figure in the sector tells us. At the moment Seguí has no news in his studio about this wedding that is still being organized, but he appreciates that, although the outskirts of Barcelona offer a large number of possibilities to celebrate weddings of this type, "these clients usually ask you for spaces in the center from Barcelona".

After more than 28 years organizing exclusive weddings, Seguí explains that this type of party sometimes requires public spaces that house many guests and for this, institutional support is necessary. Something that in recent years, without wanting to enter politics, tells us that the institutions have been more reticent. "Barcelona competes with other European cities to attract these multimillion-dollar links and cannot stay in the queue," he says.

"The king of halls in Barcelona for large weddings is the oval hall of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC)", where the more than five hundred guests gathered at the wedding of the niece of the Indian steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal . On that occasion, celebrations were also organized at the Maritime Museum and the Italian pavilion on Montjuïc. The last wedding of Indian billionaires in Barcelona had the Hospital de Sant Pau as its main setting and receptions were also organized at the Hotel Vela, Poble Espanyol and Llotja de Mar.
