UGT-PV asks Ford to specify if it will attend the Part of the electric vehicle, key to the plant

The UGT-PV union asks the management of the multinational Ford to specify if it will adhere, this time, to the second call for the Perte of the electric vehicle that is expected to start in the month of July.

For the union, the majority in the Valencian plant, Ford's decision in this regard is important in the context of the ERE that the company is currently processing, knowing, in addition, that in 2024 the factory will stop producing the Transit van in Valencia. "It is certain that we will have to face a new negotiation when the time comes," the union said in a statement on Tuesday.

The union formation also criticizes Ford's delays in starting up the first investments in the plant to "ensure its future", taking into account that it was chosen a year ago to become Ford's electric platform in Europe after passing a sieve in which she faced the German Saarlouis.

"It is evident that Ford is delaying in making decisions," accuses the union, which led the negotiation of the Electrification Agreement to lay the foundations on which to fight with the management because Valencia was the headquarters of the electric companies in the future. The agreement included wage restraint and flexibility measures to "satisfy market demands."

UGT-PV has also advanced that "shortly" it will address Ford's European management in these terms "waiting for a response and solutions in this regard." "Otherwise, we must also express our concerns to the company's global management, because it is urgent to clarify the deadlines," he has settled.
