Last year, the well-known sports car brand Lamborghini celebrated 60 years of history. Throughout these six decades of history, the firm has managed to ensure that none of its models go unnoticed wherever they go. The enormous benefits that their vehicles are capable of providing have led some of them to even become police cars in various countries around the world.

One of them is the imposing Urus, a super sports SUV with a wedge-shaped design and a biturbo V8 engine located under the hood that has not ceased to surprise since its launch, almost six years ago. During this time, we have seen this extraordinary car in many colors and with all kinds of modifications, including those that have turned it into a vehicle for security forces.

At the end of last year, Lamborghini's latest collaboration with the Italian Polizia was made public, maintaining a relationship that has already lasted no less than twenty years. This time, the car manufacturer from Sant'Agata Bolognese has prepared, for the Highway Police, a unit of the Urus Performante that will enter service this year.

However, it will not be the only one of these models that will have police use soon, as it will also happen in a country located outside our continent. We are referring to the United Arab Emirates and, more specifically, Dubai. And on its roads, as in Italy, you will soon be able to see a Urus Performante prepared for use by the Police.

With the same V8 biturbo engine as the conventional Urus, the Performante variant offers even greater power, exceeding 650 HP to reach 666 HP, and is equipped with no less than 850 Nm of maximum torque. All of this allows the spectacular SUV to reach a top speed of 306 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.

As is evident, this particular example has its own characteristics that differentiate it from any production unit. In addition to having the Dubai Police colors on the outside, the rear spoiler has a blue LED light bar and an electric siren. Like the exterior, there are also various peculiarities inside.

In this way, the cabin equips elements such as an armored box for weapons, a folding screen, a special compartment in the trunk to store specific material and the installation of a defibrillator for first aid. It is not the first model of the brand that the Dubai security forces receive, since in 2022 they already incorporated a conventional Urus.

The arrival of the Performante was made official at an event held during the last Dubai Air Show, where the regional director of Automobili Lamborghini for the Middle East and Africa, Paolo Sartori, handed over the keys of the vehicle to General Ahmed Mohammed Bin Thani, commander in chief. Acting Dubai Police.
