The price of electricity rises 4% to 86.62 euros per MWh

MADRID, 08 (SERVIMEDIA)

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise this Saturday by 4.09%, standing at 86.62 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) compared to 83.21 euros this Friday.

According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia, this Saturday the cap on gas is not applied, as it has been since February 27, as its price fell below the limit set by the Iberian exception, which in April is 56.10 euros.

This Saturday, the cost per MWh will oscillate between the maximum of 140.21 euros that will be registered between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and the minimum of 10 euros between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The 86.62 euros per MWh of this Saturday represent an increase in the MWh price of 154.83% when compared to the 33.99 euros of a week ago. However, in a month-on-month comparison, electricity experienced a 12.44% increase in the wholesale market, since on March 8 its cost was 98.93 euros.

Finally, in year-on-year terms, the price per MWh registered a decrease of 44%, given that on April 8 of last year it was 154.7 euros.
