Curiosity about the world of caravanning, derived from the success of the camper phenomenon, has coincided with a difficult time for manufacturers. First it was the pandemic, but now it is the wars that complicate the transit of components to develop motorhomes, campers and caravans. Despite the difficulties, the sector sticks its neck out and resists at CMT Stuttgart 2024, the fair that kicks off.

The leadership of the Volkswagen California is at risk with the launch of truly interesting alternatives, such as the Citroën Holidays. Developed on the Citroën SpaceTourer, this camper has gone through the ingenious minds of Bravia Mobil and can be purchased from the brand's dealer network.
Its layout allows four people to circulate and sleep overnight, with the rear bench convertible into a bed measuring 1.15 m wide by 1.90 m long and the bed with the elevating roof (1.20x1.90 m). In addition, these rear seats are removable, just like the kitchen and chemical toilet, so we can take advantage of the cargo space during our daily lives.
It has a 10-liter clean water tank and a 16-liter refrigerator, so it has real autonomy for a full weekend. During this getaway, we can shower thanks to the shower head with a 25-liter capacity and access the kitchen from the right side door.
This manufacturer is not used to creating iconic large-volume campers, but its latest foray into the segment looks very good. It is designed on the basis of the Volkswagen Crafter, so it has some resemblance to the Grand California. Of course, the seal of the Erwin Hymer group is evident in its finishes, sophistication and functional details.
Bet on noble materials such as leather or wood, as well as innovative fabrics for the window frames and the roof of the cabin. Its extendable table will provide more comfort to passengers in the swivel seats. We still don't know the price, but details such as air conditioning make us think of a premium cost.

To the model's off-road capabilities, its imposing appearance and cozy interior, we must add a water filter, two solar panels and the possibility of managing some cabin functions through the Hymer Connect APP.
We continue with the large volume camper segment, booming due to its versatile and complete concept in equal parts. In this case the manufacturer opts for a different and risky concept. You access the cabin through the side door, without direct access to the driving cabin, thus leaving two separate areas and the possibility of installing a large L-shaped kitchen occupying the entire width of the front wall. Right in front is the living room and, between the benches, there is a folding shower cabin. The portable chemical toilet should be hidden under the dining room bench.
The rear area is divided into a dining room with a central table and benches on both sides, and behind the transverse bed. Under the bed base structure there is enough storage space for accessories or equipment for any type of sport, bicycles, surfboards, etc. The novelty in the model seen in Stuttgart is the lifting roof, which adds a double bed.
