Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the revered 911 sports car with a special limited edition

The Porsche 911 is the sports car of sports cars. A legend, an icon, a car admired and revered throughout the world. And it has been like this since 1963. On the way to being eternal, it seems that the years do not pass for this emblematic German car, a benchmark that has already reached 60 years. To celebrate this anniversary, the German brand has created a special edition designed to enjoy driving to the fullest.

In this way, the engineers of the Stuttgart brand have designed a sports car with which to recover the pleasure of driving in its purest form, the 911 S/T. The exclusive anniversary model unites the strengths of the 911 GT3 with Touring Pack and the 911 GT3 RS to offer a unique experience of agility and dynamic driving.

It combines the traditional 525PS 4.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer engine from the 911 GT3 RS with a short-gear manual transmission. This is complemented by a lightweight construction and an optimized undercarriage configuration for maximum agility.

The 911 S/T weighs just 1,380 kilograms, making it the lightest model of the 992 generation. In addition, the optional Heritage Design Pack is inspired by the racing version of the 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1960s. from the 70's

The new 911 S/T incorporates the brand's experience in GT and competition vehicles. This is reflected in its agility and ease of handling, designed to get the most out of curvy roads. The reduction in weight, both in the engine and in the wheels and brakes, guarantees a particularly dynamic response.

The S/T instantly transmits the driver's input. Every steering movement, every slight pressure on the accelerator or brake is applied immediately and with pinpoint precision. Unlike the 911 GT3 RS, the development of the 911 S/T has not focused on track use, but on “normal” use, on the road or in the city.

The name ST is part of the history of the 911. In 1969 Porsche offered a special competition variant of the 911 S. Internally, these vehicles were called 911 ST.

Modifications to the chassis, tires, engine and bodywork significantly improved acceleration, braking, traction and cornering grip. Large spoilers and other aerodynamic aids were not yet used on these cars.

In this way, the new 911 S/T takes up the spirit of the original 911 S (ST) and transfers it to the current generation. It combines elements of the 911 GT3 RS with the bodywork of the 911 GT3 with Touring Pack and complements it with lightweight components specially developed for the 911 S/T. The result is a unique driving experience within the iconic 911 GT range.

Porsche has taken the lightweight design concept one step further. Thus, the front hood, roof, front wings and doors are made of a carbon fiber reinforced material (CFRP). This resistant but light material is also used in the car's safety structure, the rear stabilizer bar or the rear axle.

The standard magnesium rims, ceramic brakes or light glasses make a decisive contribution to leaving the total weight at just 1,380 kg. The clutch has also been lightened, which provides a response from the naturally aspirated engine that revs up at surprising speed.

And, thanks to the short-ratio six-speed manual transmission, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed is also round: 300 km/h. All accompanied by the unmistakable sound of the standard sports exhaust system.

For superior personalisation, Porsche offers the exclusive Heritage Design Elements Package. It includes the new Shoreblue metallic exterior color and the ceramic color of the wheels.

This package allows you to decorate the doors with a competition number, from 0 to 99, as well as a decorative sheet on request.

And for customers of this extraordinary model, Porsche Design offers the Cronograph 1 -911 S/T watch with an uncoated titanium case. The heart of this lightweight chronograph is the COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK caliber 01.240 with flyback function. The rotor has the magnesium rim design.

The new German sports car has a final price in our market of 349,225 euros. And for the Heritage Design pack you have to pay an additional 19,969 euros. The watch is somewhat cheaper: 12,150 euros.
