New Omoda 7, the Chinese plug-in hybrid SUV with a range of 1,200 kilometers

Omoda, the brand that the Chinese automobile giant Chery created in 2023, has just presented its second model in the catalog. After the commercialization of the Omoda 5, the SUV that will be manufactured in the old Nissan plant in the Barcelona Free Zone starting in the fall, now it is the turn of its older brother, the Omoda 7, which measures 462 centimeters long, 187 cm wide and 167 cm high.

The front has sharp headlights and mounts the hexagonal grille reminiscent of the one already seen on the Omoda 5. The side silhouette has a high waist, with marked wheel arches and a floating roof. The rear stands out for the optical groups with a lightning-shaped lighting signature.

According to the company, the driver has a digitalized position, with a 15.6-inch (26 cm) digital screen with sliding content. Four-zone voice interaction allows precise response to the requests of all occupants.

The new Omoda 7 will arrive in early 2025 with various propulsion systems. Initially, the plug-in hybrid version (PHEV) is planned to be marketed, with a state-of-the-art architecture, to ensure the best balance between performance, fuel consumption and driving experience.

An extreme energy saving mode allows a combined range to be achieved, with the tank and battery full, which is estimated to be - after the relevant approvals - greater than 1,200 kilometres.

In terms of safety, the body offers good torsional rigidity. Likewise, the car is equipped with a complete set of driving aids. In fact, European regulations require that all new vehicles registered in the EU have at least eight ADAS technologies.

Omoda is one of the Chinese brands that Spain has chosen to begin its landing in the Old Continent. In our country it has a network of dealers and after-sales centers.
