Hyundai presents the new generation of the Santa Fe with a style created for active families

Hyundai continues with the total renewal of its range of cars. After the compact Kona, the Korean firm now surprises with a new generation of the Santa Fe SUV. The largest model in the catalog maintains its distinctive character, but with a design that completely breaks with its predecessor, especially at the rear.

Its robust appearance and rectangular lines stand out, together with a spacious interior full of technology. In addition, Hyundai has included a huge tailgate, which allows users to enjoy a terrace-like space, as the brand claims that with this fifth generation it has sought a balance between city life and outdoor adventures.

Likewise, the new Korean SUV sports a raised hood at the front, H-shaped headlights and bumpers with very marked shapes. And the design of the light clusters reinterprets the H of the Hyundai emblem.

Viewed from the side, it features large volume around the bumpers, well-defined wheel arches, a shorter front overhang and large 21-inch wheels. And in the rear, as we have said, the gate is very wide, with a "simpler" rear design, according to Hyundai, but that does not leave you indifferent. The H-shaped taillights also stand out, which share a design with the front lights

“The new Santa Fe is an SUV that strikes the perfect balance between city life and life in the great outdoors, handling everything from busy family commutes to car camping adventures.” This is how the head of Hyundai's Global Design Center defines it, adding: "With its longer wheelbase, spacious interior and terrace-type tailgate space, the new Santa Fe builds on its SUV strengths to offer more versatility than ever, as well as a premium customer experience."

A car designed for active families necessarily has to offer a spacious cabin. And the long wheelbase has allowed it. It will have seven seats as standard and the possibility of folding down the second and third row of seats. The interior space will be a reference, "class leader", according to Hyundai.

Technology, obviously, will be very present in the interior. This is demonstrated by some elements such as the panoramic curved screen and the double wireless charging. Thus, the curved screen is combined with the 12.3-inch digital panel and the infotainment system, to improve the driver's visibility.

The will to offer cars that are respectful of the environment is not limited only to electrified engines, where Hyundai is a true expert.

In this way, the Korean brand has included multiple environmentally friendly materials in the passenger compartment. For example, the suede headlining, floor mats and seat backs in the second and third row are made from recycled plastic, while the padding and door trims are made from eco-friendly leatherette.

And bright colors are used for the seats or headlining, while the soft-touch wood-patterned trim and Nappa leather seats with delicate embroidery add a more sophisticated style.

Hyundai has not offered, for the moment, information about its engines or marketing plans. But there will probably be a 100% electric version with great autonomy. In a few weeks the brand will offer more details of the new SUV through the firm's YouTube channel.
