Alexia Putellas puts “her most special Cupra Formentor” on sale for a good cause: giving visibility to women's soccer teams and supporting girls on a journey that is not without difficulties, given the inequality that still persists in this area.

The Catalan soccer player champions the latest action from the Coches.net portal, which has put up for sale a Cupra Formentor 2.0 TSI 228KW VZ DSG 4WD 5P with 25,691 kilometers, for 33,900 euros. The profits obtained will go to entities that promote this sport among small girls.

According to the bases of the promotion, the powerful car will be sold to the first person who contacts, completes the form and meets all the requirements of the purchase process, in addition to paying the amount established by the portal.

The number of kilometers (25,691 km) is no coincidence. That is the average distance that the world champions had to travel when they were girls to attend their soccer training, according to the report How Far Are Dreams?, prepared by autos.net and Líbero Magazine.

In the case of Putellas, he traveled from Mollet del Vallés to Sabadell, which meant about 4,600 kilometers a year. The Barça midfielder Aitana Bonmatí went from Sant Pere de Ribes to Cubelles until she completed 3,150km per year. Another world champion, Irene Paredes traveled from Legazpi to Zarautz (14,580 km per year).

Beyond the financial support they can provide with this initiative, the company wants to denounce the additional effort that women have to make to begin their journey in professional football.

“We have made progress, but we need more support for those who are just starting out,” explains Putellas in a promotional video, ensuring that the most powerful thing about that car is not its engine, but rather “all the girls who dream of being soccer players and who “will help” with this initiative.
