The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has made a firm and unmitigated condemnation of the attack by Palestinian militias led by Hamas against Israel and defended the "unquestionable" right of Israelis to respond to attacks of this nature.

Through his personal account of and men and even detain the elders and show no mercy, they will be defeated.

"In Ukraine," the leader defended, "we have a special feeling for what happened. Thousands of rockets in the Israeli sky... People dead in the streets... Civilian cars pierced by gunfire... Detainees humiliated... Our position is very clear: anyone who causes terror and death anywhere on the planet must be held accountable," he stressed, supporting Israel's "full right to defend itself from terrorism."

In Zelensky's opinion, the terrorist attack "was well planned and the whole world knows which sponsors of terrorism could have supported and enabled their organization." That is why he has insisted on Israel's right to defend itself like any other state. "And it is essential that the entire world responds to terrorism in a unified and principled way," he added.

In parallel, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has also condemned the launching of rockets by Palestinian armed groups against Israel and has recalled that civilians "should never be the target of an attack", nor on one side or the other. "I call for an immediate cessation of violence and call on all parties and major countries in the region to reduce tension and avoid further bloodshed," he appealed.

Türk has confirmed that Israeli forces have responded with airstrikes against the Gaza Strip, a densely populated area, for which he has asked the Hebrew government for "all necessary precautions to avoid civilian casualties there."
