When the storm leaves you without a beach

When the storm leaves you without the beach. This is the description, in summary, of the image I took with my mobile phone the day after the last storm brought by the storm Aline, a photograph that I share in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

They say that after the storm comes calm, according to the saying, what you don't expect is that it will leave you without the extensive esplanade of sand and beach where bathers spent their summer days.

Even in winter one could have enjoyed the beach if the storm had not taken it away, here, where surfers set up their tents waiting for the gusts of wind and waves.

The last storm, the first of the autumn, swept away the Castelldefels beach, in the Baix Llobregat, very close to the city of Barcelona and in a portion of the Mediterranean coast where the regression of the beaches already seems to be a more than accomplished fact.

Not only Castelldefels has suffered the ravages of the last storm, which has not been by far the strongest in memory. Other beaches in Baix Llobregat, such as Gavà, have also decreased with the rough seas.
