On my street, Calle Sardenya, in Barcelona, many tourists pass by, some going down the street to the Sagrada Família, others uphill towards Park Güell. Who would have thought, Gaudí!
Unfortunately, tourists no longer ask for directions or get confused on the sidewalk, and the neighborhood's polyglots have lost social prestige because they speak English, French, and some greetings in Japanese without major consequences.
