Waterfalls and sources of Montseny dry up

In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can observe these eloquent comparative images of how we lose water due to the drought we are suffering.

We can see how the Riera de Santa Fe has significantly decreased its water flow in just one month apart.

Part of the Catalan Prelittoral mountain range, Montseny is a massif located on the border of the regions of Vallès Oriental, La Selva and Osona.

A large part of this mountain range is part of the protected area of the Montseny Natural Park, where the three main European biomes are concentrated: the Mediterranean, the Euro-Siberian and the Boreoalpine.

The Riera de Santa Fe is a tributary of the Tordera River. This stream originates shortly before Riera de Passavets, which comes from Turó de L'Home, while the dam is located in the municipality of Fogars de Montclús.

For its part, the Sant Marçal fountain, one of the most important in Montseny, no longer emanates water today, as can be seen in the photograph. In March the precious liquid did sprout.
