Watch the shooting star with the Milky Way

In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can admire the Milky Way accompanied by a shooting star, image captured in Sant Bartomeu del Grau, in the region of Osona.

When the clouds leave the already dark sky at night, the Milky Way can be observed in a place with little light pollution.

The surroundings of Sant Bartomeu del Grau allow us this as long as we can avoid light pollution from Plana de Vic.

On this occasion, I captured this image accompanied by a shooting star. Around these dates, the Aquarids are reaching their maximum activity. These meteors come from comet 96P/Machholz.

The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy where the solar system and Earth meet. The name comes from Latin and Roman mythology. It means "milk path". According to Greek mythology it is milk spilled from the breast of the Goddess Hera.

The geographical situation of Sant Bartomeu del Grau, with a considerable altitude in the hills that surround the town (around 900 metres), allows splendid views of the Plana de Vic to be seen from this position.
