Vinícius obtains dual nationality and opens the door to the signing of another non-EU national

Real Madrid's Brazilian soccer player Vinícius Junior achieved Spanish nationality on Friday, September 2, after months of waiting, the club reported in a statement on Monday.

"Real Madrid announces that our Brazilian player Vinícius Junior swore to the Spanish Constitution last Friday, September 2, so from that moment on he also has Spanish nationality," Real Madrid said.

In this way, Vinícius, who landed in Spain in July 2018 after being signed by Real Madrid, frees the club a non-community place, which he did not have in the summer market to undertake the arrival of striker Gabriel Jesus, who Carlo Ancelotti liked it as a complement to Karim Benzema.

Vinícius already played against Betis last Saturday in LaLiga Santander his first game with Real Madrid with his dual nationality. At 22 years old, he is one of the great stars of the team with which Brazil will seek to proclaim itself world champion next December at the 2022 World Cup.

Behind him, the whites hope that in the coming months both Rodrygo and Militao can swear to the Spanish Constitution, who are awaiting their nationalization processes to take effect.
