Versailles and the castles of Europe inspire the renovation of Mickey's hotel in Paris

The sumptuous gallery of mirrors at Versailles was built to dazzle visitors to Louis XIV. The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, in Brussels, also served to give pomposity to the royal receptions of Leopold II of Belgium. Centuries later, the majesty of these constructions, as well as that of many medieval and Renaissance castles that mainly populate French lands, has served as inspiration to the 'imagineers' of Disneyland Paris to carry out the remodeling of their most iconic hotel. A hotel, the only one that is part of the park enclosure, which has been under construction for more than two years and has scheduled its reopening for January 25 of next year.

For the first time after two years of secrecy, many details of the remodeling of the Disneyland Hotel have been revealed, coinciding with the sale of the rooms for next year. It maintains the iconic Victorian façade with which the hotel has welcomed visitors to the park since it opened its doors in 1992, but little else. Everything is rethought to offer an immersive experience, starting with the lobby, whose architecture has been inspired by the libraries of French castles and which houses in the center a monumental crystal chandelier of 4,500 pieces and six meters high, which represents the Castle. from Sleeping Beauty.

“We wanted to elevate the concept of luxury and give the feeling that the guest is really in a castle,” details Sylvie Massara, artistic director of the Disneyland Paris hotels. The result is a castle from time immemorial but with current comforts and technology.

The expression “sleeping like a king” takes its maximum expression in its 487 rooms and suites. Each room tells a Disney story and is themed to the factory's storytelling. One of the most impressive suites is undoubtedly the Royal Suite, dedicated to the world of Frozen and inspired by the ice palace from the film.

Among the hotel's new spaces, the Royal Banquet stands out, one of the hotel's restaurants inspired by the great and sober royal banquets where a splendid gallery of portraits of the Disney family is displayed, or La Table de Lumière, another restaurant that evokes the majesty Gallery of the Mirrors of the Castle of Versailles.

The words kings, queens, royalty, dreams and exclusivity have been the most used during the presentation of the new features provided by the Disneyland Hotel, whose services can dazzle adults but must pass through the approval of the little ones, who ultimately They are the ones who will have the last word. For them, the presence of characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Snow White or Cinderella in the hotel facilities for their personal delight will be decisive. As will the ability to customize your own desserts or become your favorite character thanks to the cast of stylists who will be in the Kids Club.

The remodeling of this five-star hotel is part of the large expansion operation that has been carried out for a few years at Disneyland with an investment of more than 2,000 million euros, which also involves a new space dedicated to the world of Arendelle and Frozen, scheduled for the end of 2024, in addition to several new shows, including the one dedicated to Alice and Wonderland.
