Valencia lives its third consecutive torrid night with a minimum above 25 degrees

The city of Valencia has experienced its third consecutive torrid or equatorial night this Friday, with a minimum that has not dropped below 25 degrees, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The number of hot nights the city has experienced has grown exponentially in recent decades: one in the 1940s, one in 1950, none in the 1960s and 1970s, four in 1980, 12 in 1990, 21 in 2000, 40 in 2010 and 25 in 2020 --in the latter three years are computed--.

Looking ahead to the next few days, "big changes" are not expected in the minimum temperatures. In fact, even next morning it is likely to be warmer than this past morning, according to Aemet.

The light wind, especially in the center of the city, where it remains "almost calm" and the very high humidity, above 80% throughout the early morning, accentuate the feeling of muggy weather.

But the heat of these days ago will not let up, since the AEMET has warned this Saturday of a new heat wave that will affect areas of the center and interior south of the peninsula, depressions in the northeast and interior of Mallorca. This Saturday there is a yellow alert in the northern interior of Valencia and the province of Alicante with temperatures of up to 38 degrees.

Today's night is presumed between tropical for the eastern fringe of the Community and the Alicante province, while the rest will live a normal night with temperatures below 20 degrees.
