Two workers from a railway company arrested accused of stealing 200 kg of catenary

The Civil Guard of Valencia, within the framework of the Chalkos operation, has arrested two people and is investigating another for allegedly taking the best quality copper cable from the company for which they worked, as reported by the Armed Institute in a release.

The investigation began when, as a result of the inspection activity of the Civil Guard in the scrap yards, the existence of several rolls of cable in excellent condition and of the best quality was verified. The agents found a company that verified the lack of about 200 kilograms of copper in one of the areas of Valencia where it was carrying out railway works.

After filing a complaint, the officers located and recovered a total of 151.5 kilograms of the best quality catenary copper in different metal recycling and recovery centers in the province.

They also confirmed how three workers from that company, during their work day and at night, appropriated that material to later sell it in various scrap yards.

For all this, two men, aged 62 and 44 and of Spanish nationality, were arrested, and another, a 35-year-old Spaniard, is being investigated for a crime of misappropriation. The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 10 of Valencia is aware of the facts.
