Two dogs have caused the death of two other dogs in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona. The incident took place on March 19 around 11:00 a.m. in the vicinity of a children's park located in the Plaza del Virrei Amat, according to the newspaper Metrópoli Abierta.
One of those affected, María José, has detailed that the attack occurred while she was taking a walk with her father and Coco, her two and a half year old dog, a companion that had been given to her after the loss of her husband.
The neighbor noticed an unusual noise and realized that something had happened. Before she could understand what was happening, two dogs tied but without muzzles jumped on Coco and killed him instantly. The owner of the animals tried to escape from the scene.
Ten minutes earlier, these same dogs had attacked and killed Guanyi, a Chihuahua who was also walking in the same park. After filing the complaint, the dogs were taken to the animal shelter, but days later they returned to their owner. The latter, without assuming any responsibility, continues to walk them without a muzzle.
These were the words of María José in the program 'Y Ahora Sonsoles', where she reported that the owner of the dogs did not have the slightest bit of empathy or at least apologize.
Coco had a very special meaning for María José, since it was a gift she received months after her husband's death. As she herself has expressed, Coco was the source of joy in her home. “I feel great indignation because this could have been avoided,” she said regretfully.
