Two Asian wasp nests in Pedralbes

I finally discovered this morning, when looking at the banana trees, the two nests of the Asian wasps that were wreaking havoc in the upper area of Barcelona.

It is a reason for great joy that they have been located and reported, since the Asian wasps destroyed the bees of the Pedralbes monastery and are chasing the other insects.

The two nests are located in the Jardins de la Creu de Pedralbes, near the wall of the monastery orchard. These large hives were not visible until now, because the leaves of the banana trees covered them. But, in winter, they have been left uncovered.

In the first nest there is already a sign from the Barcelona City Council that says that they have started treatment against this wasp, while the other nest seems to have gone unnoticed until now.

Coincidentally, an operator from Parcs y Jardins came and I showed him where the other nest was, so we hope they solve it as soon as possible. A curious fact is that this second nest is exposed, its cells can be seen, as can be seen in this photographic report in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.
