"Journey to the waning moon by plane" could be the title of one of the Jules Verne-style novels, but it is the description of the optical perspective of this photograph that we can see in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.
I have captured this image this Sunday morning from the beach of Gavà with this beautiful waning moon crossed by the plane.
Not surprisingly, the proximity of El Prat airport allows spotting fans to be able to capture snapshots like this, with the planes as protagonists. On this occasion, we can also focus on the detail of the craters on the moon, which look very well defined.
The moon has a calendar of four main phases, from the new to the first quarter, the full and the last quarter.
The waning moon is the interval between the full moon and the new moon. Normally, reference is made to the last quarter phase.
