Tomorrow La Vanguardia will address the challenges of the Valencian Community

The regional underfinancing, the strength of its driving companies, the push of its emerging business projects and the pending infrastructures, which are already advancing on the board. These are just some of the topics that will be addressed this Thursday, starting at 9 a.m., in the forum “Money Meetings: Special Valencian Community” that La Vanguardia celebrates in the assembly hall of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV) .

Political, economic, business actors and academic experts will participate in the meeting. The event will be chaired by the CEO of the Godó Group, Carlos Godó, and by the director, Jordi Juan, and will be attended by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón; the mayor of València, María José Catalá, the president of the CEV, Salvador Navarro and business representatives such as José Vicente Morata, president of the Valencia Chamber.

The main objective of the forum is to explore the potential of the Valencian productive sector, as well as the difficulties it suffers to consolidate itself as a fundamental economic actor in Spain. Among these topics are digitalization, innovation, internationalization, sustainability, infrastructure, transport, tourism or maximizing the use of European funds. The forum program includes various round tables, each focused on a specific topic and moderated by the La Vanguardia team in the Valencian Community.

The first table, entitled "An economy of the future", will be led by Salvador Enguix, delegate of the Valencian Community of La Vanguardia. This table will include the minister of Hacienda, Ruth Merino; the vice-president of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV) and president of CEV Valencia, Eva Blasco; the vice-president of the Valencian Business Association (AVE), Agnès Noguera; and with the vice president of Cámara Valencia, María José Mainar.

The second table will focus the debate on tourism, sustainability and innovation. Moderated by Enrique Bolland, topics related to the future of tourism, sustainability and its impact on the regional economy, and innovation as an essential lever for economic growth will be raised. The Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, will participate; the founder and president of Casual Hoteles, Juan Carlos Sanjuan; the portfolio manager of GoHub Ventures, José Ignacio Ruiz; Lanzadera Corporate Manager, Darío Olivares; and the delegate councilor for Tourism, Innovation and Investments of the Valencia City Council, Paula Llobet.

Likewise, the last panel, titled “Infrastructure and transport for a key geography”, will be moderated by Neus Navarro and will feature Josep Vicent Boira, the Government commissioner for the Mediterranean corridor; Vicente Dómine, regional secretary of Infrastructure and Transport of the Generalitat Valenciana and Vicente Soler, planning director of Air Nostrum and advisor of iryo.

The event, which can only be attended by invitation, can also be followed in streaming on the web. An enriching meeting to analyze the strong points, and also the weaknesses, of the Valencian economy; such as the tourism challenges in a successful territory and the opportunities that key infrastructures such as the Mediterranean corridor will open.
