"To be rich, I live renting and without money in the checking account"

With the purpose of living without having to work, Teodor de Mas i Valls began to walk the road to financial freedom more than two decades ago, starting as a mileurista, with a backpack full of knowledge, habits and stories from his ancestors. “It is clear that the culture and origins of each one, in my case crypto-Jews, greatly influence how we manage money,” he acknowledges.

The economist shares his vision of money in the book Fer Diners (Making money), in which he offers stories, advice and practical aspects of the domestic economy. “I found out a long time ago that I can't stand having money in my checking account,” he says by way of an example of how he manages his finances. De Mas assures that the objective of the book is to leave it as a legacy for his two sons and daughter, in addition to serving as an inspiration for those who want to be more independent in the labor market.
