Tiana celebrates a more inclusive festival

This year, for the first time, the Tiana Festival (Maresme) will feature events adapted to Catalan sign language. The Tiana City Council and the Inclusivxs association have closed an agreement to be able to kick off the inclusive Major Festival.

The proclamation of Victòria Riba and the Toc d'Inici will be done with sign language interpreters in Catalan. This will allow people who have hearing problems to follow normally the two events that open the Tiana Festival. It will also allow us to show new audiences the most traditional part of the festival and its groups that shape the Toque de Inicio and the presentation of the Capgròs del Any which, remembering one of the popular characters of the town, also serves to tell our history and our most recent past. The proclamation will be on Friday, September 15, at 9:30 p.m. in the Plaza de la Vila.

The Penguins Reggae per xics concert will also be performed with sign language. It will be the first time that the group gives a concert adapted to children with hearing problems. The Tiana Festival thus opens the central event for boys and girls to families from the region who want to enjoy the inclusive concert. The concert, adapted by the Inclusivxs association, is possible thanks to the sponsorship of Quorania. It will be on Friday, September 15, at 6 p.m., in the Parque del Antiguo Campo de Fútbol.
