The Municipal Police of Madrid have arrested a couple and a third man red-handed accused of stealing a total of 2,319 euros in products from various Mercadona supermarkets in the capital, according to the Municipal Police, reports Efe.

The 47-year-old woman got out of the car and told the driver to wait at that point while she entered a Mercadona, which raised the suspicions of the police.
In addition, they verified in a police database that the owner of the vehicle had several incidents, for which they decided to continue the surveillance and request the reinforcement of a uniformed patrol.
At one point, the suspect left the supermarket with a plastic bag full of products, although the agents also detected that she was carrying a bag that seemed full of belongings inside.
The second patrol, which had already arrived at the scene, had to stop the suspects' vehicle when it was almost underway, since the woman had discovered their presence.
Meanwhile, the plainclothes agents had witnessed how the lady had hidden some products inside the car.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, they found dozens of products such as cheese wedges, shrimp, octopus legs, and other non-basic food items.
The woman gave the police a single purchase payment for a small amount of the products found.
According to Municipal Police sources, it is common for these types of criminals to make a small purchase and steal much larger merchandise.
After making calculations with the person in charge of the affected Mercadona, it was determined that the three suspects had stolen a total of 2,319 euros in different supermarkets of the chain, which was equivalent to two full shopping carts.
