This is what the members of Locomía look like 35 years after their great success

They were the most bizarre group of the late 80s and early 90s. And also one of the most successful. Locomía was a hit on best-seller lists, in nightclubs, on tours throughout Latin America and on television music shows with her exotic costumes and dancing with large fans.

They disappeared from the public scene a long time ago, but now there is a revival that reclaims the fun, the dancing and the way of life of the unforgettable group. A revival to which Kike Maíllo's film Disco, Ibiza, Locomía has contributed, which was screened at the BCN Film Fest and will hit the big screen next May.

Disco, Ibiza, Locomía tells the story of the group that went from nothing to everything and then sank into oblivion due to internal fights between its members, drug consumption and even orgies. He also had a run-in with the producer who had led them to fame, José Luis Gil. The result of that lawsuit ended with Locomía.

But a long time has passed and the former members of the group met on Friday at the Verdi cinemas in Barcelona to support the premiere of Disco, Ibiza, Locomía at the BCN Film Fest. Carlos Armas, Juan Antonio Fuentes and Manolo Arjona were at the event, and they were photographed with Gil.

Also attending the presentation was Xavi Font, the creator of the group, the designer of the extravagant dresses worn by the Locomía and the ideologist of the fan dance. Gil kicked Font out of his own band and now, 35 years later, there is a new Locomía, which Font sponsors and who also made an appearance at Friday's event.
