Rihanna has paid 21 million dollars, 19 euros at current exchange rates, for the 40th floor of the exclusive The Century tower in Los Angeles. It is one of the most spacious properties in the building: 9,000 square feet with four bedrooms, six bathrooms and one half bath, and four terraces with impressive views that stretch from downtown Los Angeles through the Santa Monica Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Rihanna was already a neighbor of the tower but with a young son and another on the way, it seems that the 325 m2 of her other apartment have become too tight.

The attic belonged to Matthew Perry, actor who gave life to Chandler Bing in the immortal series 'Friends'. He put it up for sale in August 2020 for a whopping 29.5 million euros. Finally, he managed to sell it the following year for almost 12 million less, closing the purchase with Nick Molnar, co-founder of the Afterpay technology company, for 17.8 million euros. Also neighbors are actor Denzel Washington and Candy Spelling, playwright and widow of powerful producer Aaron Spelling.

The penthouse is accessed by private elevator and the guest is surprised as soon as they enter through a circular glass wall, from floor to ceiling. The dark wood floors converge towards the dining room, where we find a white kitchen with marble countertops and double islands. One of the best assets of the property are its four outdoor terraces, oriented to the four cardinal points: from them you can see the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles, the San Gabriel mountains and even Mount Baldy covered in snow.

Perry commissioned a comprehensive renovation from the studio of Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Pagano. Its luxuries include a theater room, a gigantic professional chef's kitchen and high-end appliances, a formal dining room with seating for 25, a living room with two fireplaces, and a sumptuous master suite with walk-in closets and a sitting room with a fireplace. further.

The Century, designed by Robert AM Stern Architects, is a very expensive tower: each tenant pays 7,200 euros per month (we are talking about common expenses, not rent) for amenities such as valet or valet parking, permanent doorman and concierge, wine cellar, lounge projection room, 25 m lap pool with sauna, gym and fitness room, library, restaurant and 16,200 m2 of gardens with outdoor dining areas, fountains and botanical paths.

Right now there are five condominiums for sale, the cheapest of which, measuring 230 m2, costs 3,650,000 euros.
