This is how Barça wants to avoid an invasion of Manchester United fans

April 14, 2022 went down in Barça history as a shameful night. Not only because of the elimination in the Europa League against a lesser team in the international concert like Eintracht, but above all because of the invasion of the fans of the German team, which turned the Camp Nou into a temple for their team in the middle of Easter. The blush was of arms to take and the blaugrana board had no choice but to take action on the matter. A series of measures were studied and approved that will have their first major exam tomorrow against a rival, Manchester United, which also usually attracts thousands of followers.

One of the great innovations to try to avoid another invasion is the transfer of the subscription card through another person. For the first time, for a season ticket holder to lend his seat to a relative or friend (as has been done all his life), a transfer form has been introduced. Anyone who goes to the stadium without being the holder of the location or the subscription will have to present, digitally or in print, that document with his data. To access the facility, the person who has received the subscription must present the form, the membership card (that of the holder or his), the subscription card and his own DNI. Random controls will be established at the different entrances to the Camp Nou. In the early afternoon of this Tuesday, 16,228 forms had already been downloaded and the transfer can be made until shortly before the start of the game. From now on, the club will establish this season ticket loan system for all high-risk matches.

It is not the only measure that has been applied with a view to the match against United. Barça requires that all tickets be nominal and has blocked marketing in England through IP's and bank cards. Tickets are only sold through the club's website (not at the ticket office) and with a maximum distribution of four tickets per purchase. In the same way, tour operators have only obtained 1,000 seats.

With all this operation, Barcelona considers that there will only be Manchester United fans in the area designated for the occasion. Barça distributed to its rival, as mandated by UEFA, 5% of the tickets, in this case 4,255 tickets, which the English team sold out. As is already happening at the Camp Nou, Barça will not allow fans wearing the rival's clothing outside the sector where the visiting parish will be located.

As it is a game at an unusual time (6:45 p.m. on a weekday) and in anticipation of access problems, the club has asked its fans to arrive as early as possible. The English supporters' area will open two hours before the match, while the rest of the entrances will do so an hour and a half before the initial whistle. That is to say at 17.15.
