The Community of Madrid opens the deadline next November 1 and until December 15, inclusive, to request help of up to 250 euros per month to rent a home or room. This is a measure approved by the Government of Pedro Sánchez, now in office, but whose funds are managed by the Autonomous Communities.
To access it, young people must have an income of less than three times the Iprem and a maximum of 600 euros is allocated to rent, which can be increased to 900 euros. The aid consists of an amount of 250 euros, as help to pay for rented housing or room. Another essential requirement is that the plaintiff and the rest of the tenants are under 35 years old.
This aid is incompatible with the youth rental voucher or in any case the aid will be up to 40% of the difference between the monthly rent or price that the beneficiary must pay for the rental or transfer of their habitual and permanent home or room and the amount of 250 euros per month corresponding to the youth rental bonus.
In this sense, the sum of the aid from the youth rental voucher and the rental aid or transfer regulated in the aid program for young people may not exceed 75% of the amount of the rent or price of the home or room. For this purpose and where appropriate, the rental or transfer aid regulated in this program would be reduced by the necessary amount.
The amount in the Community of Madrid will be 50% of the rent or monthly price paid by the tenant for the habitual residence or room.
The way to submit the application can be in person or online, using the official application model and annexes that can be downloaded on the Community of Madrid website. However, submission by electronic means is recommended to speed up the procedures.
Among the documentation to be presented, the following stands out: a copy of the rental contract, the registration certificate, a copy of the residence permit if it is a non-EU foreigner and if the minimum income for insertion or Social Security benefits is received, it must be presented. the certificate issued by the paying body of the amount received in 2022. If you belong to a vulnerable group (single-parent family, victim of gender violence, or large family, among other cases), this condition must be proven, even though The Community of Madrid does not have a single-parent card issued for this type of family units.
The aid will be granted, once all applications have been reviewed, in strict order depending on the income and greatest need of the applicant.
After its approval, it has been the task of the autonomous communities, responsible for housing, to launch the calls and make the payments. In the 2022 edition, 11,147 applications were accepted out of the more than 50,000 submitted.
