The working woman points out the change of time

Times are changing in terms of greater integration and equality of women at work and, on the other hand, in the next few hours the weather and the meteorology will change, as if we were finally entering autumn with the first big storm.

Both concepts merge in this series of photographs captured for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos in Terrassa, with the monument to the working woman and the cloudy sky as co-stars.

The Aemet warns that in the next few hours the storm Aline will leave rain, waves and wind in these areas of Spain, although in Catalonia it will arrive later than in other parts, it will go from west to east.

The sky was already premonitory at yesterday's sunset with fantastic clouds observed from around Terrassa looking towards Sant Llorenç del Munt.

The Monument of the Dona Treballadora de Terrassa is a sculpture dedicated to the working women of the city. It was inaugurated in 1996 and designed by the Valencian sculptor Andreu Alfaro, known for being the creator, among other works, of the columns of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

The sculpture is located at the intersection of Jaume I and Barcelona avenues, with the Vint-i-Dos de Juliol promenade and the Castellar road. It is made of steel, concrete and marble, and has a height of 40 meters and weighs more than 60 tons.

The monument remembers the braids of those working women from Tarragona who, due to work accidents that occurred as a result of the few safety measures in the factory facilities, died entangled in the machines.

Terrassa was one of the main centers of the textile industry in Catalonia, a sector in which many women worked, often in precarious conditions.
