At the beginning of this season, the Lakers announced the retirement of Pau's number 16 jersey in the home game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Pau's first team in the NBA. Gasol played with the Lakers for seven seasons (2008-14) and contributed to the Angels' back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010.
