The trial of Ángela Dobrowolski is suspended with a fine of 500 euros to Josep Mª Mainat

The story of this ex-couple is the closest thing to a Valle-Inclán grotesque. The last episode was just signed today, January 25th. This Thursday an oral hearing was scheduled to be held against Ángela Dobrowolski, accused of attacking her then husband in 2019 with homemade objects and causing minor injuries. Although Josep María Mainat denounced her, she finally withdrew from the case. Today neither one nor the other has appeared: she, who has already avoided court dates on previous occasions, could have been tried in absentia because it was a crime whose sentence is less than two years but he was obliged to attend as a witness. He has not appeared and the judge has fined him 500 euros. The trial has been suspended until a new date.

In the Criminal Court No. 19 of Barcelona they did not have much hope that Dobrowolski would appear, given his recent erratic past and because the trial can be held without the accused when the expected sentence for the crime is less than two years. In this case, the prosecutor asks for nine months. Now, the representative of the Public Ministry has believed the presence of Josep María Mainat as a witness, no longer a private accusation, is essential, and the judge has decided to suspend the hearing. Although the producer's lawyer explained to the press that her client had not attended because she had received the summons, his honor has denied this point: the witness was “duly summoned” and, therefore, he has imposed a fine of 500 euros.
