The toughest quarter-final draw: The Champions League runs out of Cinderellas

Barça, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund. Three Spanish teams, two German, two English and one French. Except for the absence of the Italian teams (Inter Milan and Naples fell in the round of 16), the draw for the quarterfinals of the Champions League will be one of the most difficult in memory. There are no Cinderellas this time and they will all be tough nuts to crack for Barça, who have reached these heights of the tournament after several years of absence. This Friday at 12:00 p.m. the crossings will be known.

This Friday the draw will be held that will match the eight best teams in Europe this year. By level of difficulty, Manchester City is the team that everyone wants to avoid, but Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid are not far apart in terms of the problems they could cause Barça to qualify. Atlético de Madrid, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are the least complicated rivals in a tie for Barça, although favoritism would still be very distributed.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is still alive in two competitions (Premier and Champions) and aspires to retain the title. For its part, Bayern only has the Champions League left, which makes it a very dangerous rival. PSG, with Mbappé as the banner and with Luis Enrique at the controls, will not be an easy team to overcome, as Real Sociedad could see.

After several years of absence, Arsenal returns to this round with a young and happy team that is willing to make it difficult for anyone. Arteta's men have plenty of football arguments to be a real threat. Odegaard, Saka and Havertz lead the Gunners, leaders of the Premier League. Borussia Dortmund, finally, is the most affordable team in terms of its potential. In the Bundesliga he can no longer compete for the title.

Finally, both Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, due to the existing rivalry, would be two possible crossings of the highest demand. If the whites were the rival, there would be a classic with unexpected consequences in the quarterfinals, something that has not happened in a long time.
