The torb intensifies the frost

Cold, frost and clean air in Manlleu, in the Osona region. And in the snowy mountains we can see how the torb is noticeable, a name that comes from the Latin "turbo" and means "whirlpool", a very graphic etymological explanation to define this meteorological phenomenon.

During the torb, winds exceeding 56 km/h and temperatures below -12 °C occur in the Pyrenees. In these conditions, visibility is minimal.

In this series of images in La Vanguardia Readers' Photos, with video included, we can see this wind in action and how it influences the landscape when the peaks are snowy, although it is still more white powder than snow.

In this other series of images we see the effects of the morning frost, when the puddles of water freeze around the Puig-agut sanctuary.

Frost is a meteorological phenomenon that consists of a drop in ambient temperature to levels below the freezing point of water and causes the water or vapor in the air to freeze, depositing it in the form of ice on surfaces, such as can be seen in these snapshots of Manlleu.
