The Supreme rejects a complaint by Vox against Sánchez for conspiring for the rebellion

The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court has rejected a complaint filed by Vox for the crime of conspiracy for rebellion against the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, the ministers and ministers of the Catalan Government who are members of the dialogue table, the president of ERC , Oriol Junqueras, and parliamentary spokesmen for the PSOE and Unidas Podemos.

The court states in its order that "there is no basis, minimally solid" that allows considering that the defendants "conspire to commit a crime of rebellion, -violent and public uprising with any of the typical criminal purposes-, or are in any phase oriented to the preparation of the same”.

For the court, the complaint constitutes, as a whole, "a complete challenge or criticism of the political line followed by the Government" in relation to the trial of the procés and its sentence and, by extension, relative to the understanding that the Executive "defends, -or that the plaintiff claims to defend-, within the framework of the territorial organization of the State”. A criticism that the Chamber sees as "fully legitimate on the political level, as legitimate is also the opposite position." "It will be in the political sphere and, ultimately and sovereignly, in the electoral contest itself, where it must be aired," concludes the Chamber.

The complaint was also directed against Juan Carlos Campo in his capacity as Minister of Justice at the time the pardons were issued to those convicted of the process. Also against all the members of the so-called dialogue table: the ministers Félix Bolaños, Yolanda Díaz, Isabel Rodríguez and Miquel Iceta, representing the Spanish Government, and the councilors Laura Vilagrà, Roger Torrent, Joan Ignasi Elena and Natàlia Garriga, on behalf of of the Generalitat. Likewise, Vox sued the general secretaries of the parliamentary groups of the PSOE and Unidas Podemos in the Congress of Deputies: Isaura Leal and Txema Guijarro, respectively.

"The dialogue table has been turned into a true conspiracy table," denounced Abascal at the time of his presentation, in which he recalled that with similar complaints they managed to "sit the coup plotters on the bench", alluding to the leaders of the process, who were finally convicted of sedition.
