The super contrails of the Airbus A380

I was able to capture this image for the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia of the mythical A380 flying over Gavà this afternoon, in Baix Llobregat, greeting us with its spectacular trails in the sky.

The truth is that planes form a vapor trail after the kerosene combustion process. The gases expelled by the engine come out at a much higher temperature than that of the outside.

The sharp contrast of temperatures at a height above 30,000 feet (-50 degrees in the environment) causes the immediate condensation of the water present in this mixture of substances. This makes us see this kind of elongated ice clouds that dissolve after a short time.

In this case, they are generated by the Emirates Airbus A380, the device with the largest passenger capacity that regularly operates in El Prat. This plane is, so far, the largest in the world.

It is the first jet aircraft with two decks along the entire length of its fuselage, unlike the Boeing 747, which, although it also has two, the upper deck covers only the front of the fuselage.

This aircraft has a maximum capacity of 853 passengers in a hypothetical high-density economy class configuration.
