The sun greets La Castellassa de Can Torres

In La Vanguardia Readers' Photos we can enjoy the moment when the sun greets the Castellassa de Can Torres at dawn, a monolith located on the southeastern slope of La Mola, in the Sant Llorenç del Munt massif.

As you can see in the image, the Castellassa de Can Torres stands alone, separated almost 100 meters from the rest of the Sant Llorenç del Munt massif.

It rises prominently above the crest of the Island and over the sot de Matalonga, on the north side, and the sot de la Carda, on the south side.

We are located in the municipality of Matadepera, in the region of Vallès Occidental, on the border of the municipal area next to that of Castellar del Vallès.

La Castellassa has three peaks, which, from northeast to southwest, are: the Torre (835.6 meters), the Cabreta (829.9 meters) and the Gepa (832.4 meters), numbers that refer to its shape.

The monolith has a prominence of 50 meters from the base and on the northeast side. The base is about 90 meters long and has a maximum width, in the center, of about 30 meters. It is highly appreciated among climbing fans.
